Our Wedding Day

It has been a looooong time since I used this blog! Way too long you might say.  We have been very busy here in Rhode Island planning the wedding of our dreams and it's no coincidence that this blog was the first to hit the back burner. So what better way to resurrect this thing than to share the details of our most favorite day!

When we started planning this wedding we thought we would invite 25-30 people. Um... that is nearly impossible to do. I tip my hat to the couples that are able to do it though. We ended with a guest count of 75ish.  To me that number was perfect. We loved every person at our wedding and could not imagine spending the day without a single one of them.  They also fit perfectly into our "intimate restaurant wedding." Speaking of restaurants, I highly recommend that route if you are considering planning a wedding in the future.  It allows you to focus your budget on food and alcohol rather than rental fees for tables and halls.

The day started out bright and early with hair and makeup in our apartment. I am so glad we opted to get ready in our home rather than off site. In true homebody spirit, there is no place that calms me  more than my own home!

All of the baby love :) A HUGE shutout to these super mamas who traveled across the country with babies in tow to be with me on my special day.

Guys, they say something WILL go wrong on your wedding day, and they were right. We had every moment of our day scheduled down to the 15 minute mark on my very diligent spreadsheet. Everybody did their part to stay on schedule except for the lunch delivery people who took TWO HOURS to deliver our very important getting-ready-wedding-day pizza!!  Ever wondered what the face of rage looks like? With the drama of lunch behind us, it was time to put my dress on! This was one of the those surreal moments.  Putting your dress on means you are REALLY getting married. Like really really. It was also one of my favorite moments of the day.

And we were off TO GET MARRIED!

Meanwhile over at the Omni Hotel...my handsome groom was also busy getting ready.

Our ceremony took place at The Aldrich House. It is a beautiful old mansion here in Providence and we loved how elegant the space felt.

Before the ceremony us girls (and boy) took pictures outside.

Before we knew it, it was time to walk down the aisle!!!

This was my Dad seeing me for the fist time!
Our ceremony was pretty perfect! Filled with lots of laughs and lots of tears.

My brother shared a reading from a movie called Broken Arrow.
"Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to each other..."

Eric's vows were EVERYTHING!
"I never believed in angels until I met you"

Our first kiss. Ever. Just kidding!  We practiced a few times before.

Taking a selfie with our superstar officiant as husband and wife!

And just like that we were husband and wife :)

It was time to PARTAYYY!!

We used the cake topper that Eric's parents had on their wedding cake.

Our first dance as husband and wife!

The toasts!

We had an agreement ERIC. NO CAKE SMUSHING. Apparently Eric did not get the memo on proper cake feeding. The cake went onto his fork and right down my dress. As in INSIDE my dress. Then he proceeded to stick his fork down my dress.

The kids enjoying the perks of being at the kids table...lots of candy and toys. They were also closest to the dessert.

Father Daughter dance!
Thanks everybody for making this day the best day of our lives!

We had the absolute dream team of vendors and would recommend every single one of them!
