The Birds and the Boulangers

I start most days by getting breakfast at my favorite Boulanger, Eric Kayser. This is not the type of Boulanger where an older french man yells "Marie, the baguettes!" as one might hope.  It does however offer the benefits of deliciousness, convenience and a mirror where I can sit and stare at myself.

Baked goods and admiring oneself... doesn't get much better.

Right now I am on a pain aux raisins kick.

After I finish congratulating myself on the correct choice in lip color, I decide what I will do for the day.

Today I decide to take a stroll through the 3rd and pay a visit to Musée de la Chasse et de la Naturehe (Museum of Hunting and Nature).

Before that I stop at Paris' oldest covered market (also in the 3rd), Marché des Enfants Rouge. This is a wonderful market with all the standard vendors plus ones selling food from all over the world. I decided on a falafel sandwich from Traiteur Libanais.

Perfection. Now that this vegetarian has fed herself, she can do a little bit of shopping! I find a store called "Cheap Monday" where I  was never sure if I was in the men's or women's section...I may own a men's dress now. We will never know.

And finally on to the hunting museum!

It was both terrifying and beautiful.

You might be thinking, what a great day! Delicious food, a magnificent museum... Nothing could ruin this girls day! Oh how wrong you can be. The day ended so horrifically, that I barely remembered the delightfulness before it. You see on my way home, a bird...flew into my head.  I suppose the animal gods were punishing me for taking such delight in their stuffed friends at the museum. But a pigeon to the head seems harsh.
